Iron and Steel

When it comes to steel making, specific requirements are related to refractory materials whether for transport of molten metal in the basic oxygen process and in the electric arc furnace process, or for production stages from primary and secondary steelmaking to the tundish before continuous casting. Variable operating conditions, sources of constraints for the refractory materials, such as wear, thermal shocks, chemical and mechanical stresses as well as resistance to high temperatures require a range of refractory products of the highest reliability. 

Our range of products with multiple qualities is used as working or safety layers in the following thermal appliances, among others: torpedo ladles, steel casting ladles, tundishes, EAF furnaces, induction furnaces, blast furnaces and treatment furnaces.

Energy and environment

In Waste-to-Energy and power generation facilities, controlled incineration processes under optimized conditions allow for a highly efficient use of scarce resources by using energy in an effective and eco-friendly way. Well-constructed boilers and modern power plants supply valuable energy while contributing to an integrated approach to waste management. Building developed and modern boilers represents a technical challenge. The heart of a boiler, the combustion chamber, is essential to ensure a perfect combustion and optimum performance of the appliance.

Cement Industry

 

Cement industry monolithic refractory areas can broadly be divided into three main sectors namely as preheater section, rotary kiln and clinker cooler.

The design, raw materials used, and various fuel options all have an influence on the type of refractory material required. Alkali infiltrations, build-ups, abrasions, and the use of alternative fuels are carefully taken into consideration.

Reheating furnaces

Reheating steel semi-finished products serve the purpose of their thermal treatment or of bringing them in a ready-to-deform condition. Temperatures in the different areas of the furnaces may vary and go up to 1100°C-1300°C.  The refractory lining is therefore designed to withstand abrasive solids, gases at high temperatures, and prevent heat loss, in other words, increase campaign life.
